Like the psilocin prodrug 4-AcO-DMT, which undergoes deacetylation to produce psilocin in the body, 4-AcO-MET is anticipated to be rapidly hydrolyzed by serum esterases, converting it into 4-HO-MET. This conversion is key to understanding its psychoactive properties and potential effects.
